Haddon Hall is open to the public 7 days a week, It is also open for Christmas events in early December Please check opening times before visiting. We welcome all visitors, but due to the age and nature of Haddon Hall there are many uneven floors and steps within the site.

Unfortunately access for visitors with disabilities, particularly wheelchair users, is very restricted. We suggest that if you are in any doubt, please call the Estate Office on in advance for further information. Unfortunately, we cannot allow large bags, prams, pushchairs or mobility scooters into Haddon Hall.

We ask that visitors take special care when crossing the busy A6 and note that the car park can become extremely crowded during special events, in which case, overflow parking is provided in the field beyond.

The Hall has a dedicated car park on the A6. If using Sat Nav or other navigation software, we recommend that you input directions specifically to our car park A6, Bakewell, DE45 1LA to avoid you being incorrectly directed to an off-road site.

Alternatively, use directions for Bakewell or Rowsley, then follow the brown tourist signs for Haddon Hall. The car park is clearly signposted from both directions. This is an hourly service during the day, with journey times between 25 — 30 minutes. This is, again, an hourly service, with a journey time of just over 1 hour. Alternatively, travel by train to Matlock and follow the route above. Buses are regular, with a journey time of around 5 minutes or less.

Bus from Sheffield Interchange Take the Peak Line service to Bakewell from Bay D3 of Sheffield Bus Interchange, leaving every half an hour with a journey time of around an hour, then follow instructions above from Bakewell. Bus From Chesterfield Take the bus route from Stop B12 on New Beetwell Street to Bakewell, leaving every hour with a journey time of around 45 minutes, then follow instructions above from Bakewell.

There is a footpath along the A6 between Rowsley and Bakewell, though we would advise caution if walking or cycling, due to the busy main road.
