Can you xyz with trap monsters

So does anybody know? Ah, Okay, I didn't see that before. What happens to the actual Trap? If it is destroyed, is the Xyz Material gone, or is it impossible to destroy after it is Xyz Material? Okay, that really does clear things up, thanks a bunch! In TCG monster use as XYZ material are consider to be on the field so if a trap monster is a XYZ material because it is still consider behing on the field it will still take one of you spell, and trap card zone, what happen in this case if the monster trap got destroy as a trap while behing an XYZ material?
